I've just installed Beta2 and am running it on a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ chip with a K8V-X mb with the latest drivers. I have 1GB of memory and 256MB of video memory with a NVidia GEForce FX 5700LE video card.
When playing music in wmp 11 the music plays and it works great but the music skips every so often. It's definitely when doing other things but I only have the sidebar up, outlook, wmp11, and ie7.
Thanks in advance

music skips
I have noticed the same thing. Running a AMD Athlon 64x2 4200+ on Asus A832-SL1 mb, 1GB memory. No other programs runing. Also had an unexpected shutdown while playing MP3 music.

Hi there!
I have the exact same problem. Try disable the sidebar, I did and I got much fewer "skips". Seems like the sidebar hog system resources, at least for me.

I too have the same problem despite disabling the sidebar a while ago, reverting to the "classic" desktop and updating my Audigy drivers to the Creative Vista Beta ones.
This doesn't happen with WMP11 and XP on my laptop.
Any response from MS?
